Moonlitt adds Eclipse Live Activity for the 2026 total solar eclipse
The new feature brings phase timings and key eclipse moments to the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.
On August 12, 2026, a total solar eclipse will cross parts of Europe and the North Atlantic, with totality visible in Spain and partial views across much of the Northern Hemisphere.
For many people, it will be a rare chance to plan for totality close to home, or to understand a partial eclipse from wherever they are.
Moonlitt’s eclipse tools make the event easier to prepare for and follow. The app helps people see what will happen from their location, when each phase begins, where the eclipse will appear in the sky with Augmented Reality, and what conditions may affect visibility.

The new Eclipse Live Activity brings the eclipse timeline to the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. It is designed to stay essential and non-disruptive. It focuses on phase timings and key upcoming moments, helping people stay oriented during the eclipse while leaving them free to experience it with only the guidance they need.
Eclipse Live Activities are available for upcoming solar and lunar eclipses across the next 200 years. Anyone can test the Eclipse Live Activity with a free demo, full access during the eclipse requires Moonlitt PRO.
